A working group has been formed by the legislature to figure out how to cut 7 million dollars from the state hospital budget next fiscal year. The working group will make proposals to the legislature, one of which may be to close facilities or reduce services provided at Dorothea Dix Psychiatric Center. There will be a public comment session October 14th from 9 am to 12 pm at Dorothea Dix. Members of the community have been speaking about what services they value most and have had successful outcomes with. Please comment at the October meeting, or via the Department of Health and Human Services website.
