Dental Clinic: Returns: Adult Care Available

Posted April 14, 2014, at 2:40 p.m.

The New York University College of Dentist Medicine Henry Schein Cares Global Student Outreach Clinic is back in Machias and they have room to see adults.

It’s been a year since the no cost clinic was in Machias. About 30 people were waiting for the doors to open this morning. “Things have been flowing smoothly and we have found ourselves with room to see more adults ,” says Teresa Alley, Oral Health Coordinator for the Washington County Children’s Program. We are so excited to have the clinic back.”

There have been more than 4,600 patient visits since the clinic began three years ago. They were happening every six months but this time it was changed to once a year. Success in reducing decay among school children is the biggest reason.

The Clinic is located at the Lee Pellon Center at 90 Main Street in Machias. It will be closed Thursday but it will be open the rest of this week for anyone having trouble accessing dental care.
