Steuben photographer Craig P. Snapp will exhibit a selection of his photos at the Henry D. Moore Library in Steuben during the month of June. The show, titled “Snapp Shots around Steuben,” will be available for viewing during regular library hours from June 2nd until June 28th. An opening reception will be held on Monday, June 2nd from 6-8 pm.

Craig retired from his Silicon Valley career in 2000, began volunteering for several land conservation non-profits, and reanimated his photography hobby just as the digital imaging revolution was taking off. After moving permanently to Maine in 2003, he initially specialized in digitally stitched panorama photography that allowed him to easily create and print images that captured the scale of Maine’s striking landscapes. He expanded his work to include infrared photography and various digitally enhanced techniques to create dramatic, evocative images that bring new perspectives to familiar sights. Touches of color occasionally incorporated in his infrared photographs and experiments with physical 3D framing are reflections of Craig’s sense of humor. He has won a number of awards at the Topsham Library’s “Joy of the Lens” annual show and recently at the 2014 Maine Photography Show in Boothbay Harbor.
