Corrections promotes Michael Garan to chief firearms instructor

WARREN, Maine — The Maine Department of Corrections has promoted Michael Garan to chief firearms instructor for the department.

“Mike began his work in Corrections over 16 years ago at the Maine State Prison and has for the past 15 years served as a firearms instructor both as an additional duty, and as a full time firearms instructor/corporal. In addition to his work with the DOC Mike has an impressive background in professional shooting in competitive skeet shooting, and IDPA,” said Dwight Fowles, acting director of security, Maine Department of Corrections, in a department press release.
