The front door is locked for security reasons but inside people still seek to be the hands and heart of Christ to others. Everyday the phone rings over and over with calls coming from people in need. Increasingly families are looking for help with rent money, fuel assistance, clothing and recently school supplies. Grace United Methodist Church operates a “Saving Grace Thrift Shop” in order to help more people in need. Often times items are given away to those in need and all items are marked very inexpensively so that those with fixed and low incomes can afford to shop. Grace Church is located in the midst of those in need. At our downtown location you often find neighbors sitting on the church steps to share their stories, their sorrows and then they knock on the door in hopes of finding help. On Saturday, September 10th, we will have a HUGE YARD SALE in the church parking lot. If you would like to help those in need please come by and make a donation. All the proceeds from the sale will go directly to Grace’s ministries for the poor. Please help us serve more families. We will be selling furniture, linens, clothings, household goods, kid’s toys, new and gently used merchandise from 9am-2pm on Saturday September 10th. Each of us have opportunities to help those who struggle among us….here’s an opportunity for you on the 10th!
