Come Boating!, Belfast’s community rowing program, will hold it’s 14th Annual Rowing Regatta August 16, as part of the Belfast Harbor Fest. All human powered rowed and paddled boats are invited to race the 3.6 mile course around beautiful Belfast harbor, and a sailing Regatta will also be taking place Sunday, August 17 in association with the Maine Laser Championship Series.
The race will feature Cornish Pilot Gigs from all over the Northeast racing against our three gigs, including our newest, traditionally built gig, the “Malcolm G”
The Come Boating! Regatta is part of Harborfest, a celebration of boats and Belfast’s marine heritage. Waterfront activities will include the National Boatbuilding Challenge, maritime exhibits, demonstrations and speakers, a blueberry pancake breakfast, children’s nautical activities, live music, and delicious food!
