BANGOR, Maine — Penobscot Community Health Care  is pleased to announce that Cindy Avery, MD, has joined the medical staff of PCHC’s Community Care and Geriatrics whose multi provider team serves patients in area nursing homes, rehabilitation facilities, or for in-home visits. Dr. Avery’s practice centers on all aspects of high-quality geriatric medical care, including patient physicals, acute visits, and health care maintenance.

Cindy Avery, MD, received her undergraduate degree from University of Massachusetts, Amherst, her Medical Degree from Medical College of Pennsylvania, Philadelphia, and completed a Family Practice Residency Program with Maine Medical Center, Portland. Prior to joining Penobscot Community Health Care, Dr. Avery served at Ellsworth Family Practice. Dr. Avery continues to serve as a Preceptor of Family Practice Residents at Maine Medical Center. Robert Allen, MD, PCHC’s Executive Medical Director, states, “Cindy Avery, MD, is a highly experienced Family Practitioner who has worked with geriatric patients for many years. Cindy will be bringing her expertise to PCHC and to Community Care and Geriatrics. We are very fortunate to have an experienced provider of her caliber join PCHC.”
