BANGOR, Maine — The organizers of Erin’s Run, a 5K road race and walk that took place on April 27 in Bangor, presented checks to the two beneficiaries of the run on the morning of Thursday, June 13, at the offices of Spruce Run, 77 Essex St.
In total, $15,000 was raised, which was split evenly between Spruce Run, a domestic violence center in Bangor where Erin worked, and a scholarship in the memory of Erin Woolley that has been established through the University of Maine Swimming and Diving program.
Thanks were expressed to the two groups for the work they are doing in their communities and for their help with the inaugural Erin’s Run, according to a press release from the organizers.
Work on plans for next year’s run in April or May 2014 in Bangor are already under way.
