The Spiritual Life & Learning Center at St. Francis by the Sea Episcopal Church and the Reversing Falls Sanctuary will partner to offer a special program focused on Celtic Spirituality starting on May 21. The discussions, which take place on Wednesdays from 10:30 to 11:45 a.m. at St. Francis by the Sea in Blue Hill, will run for six weeks and end June 25. Co-facilitators will be the Rev. Claudia Smith and the Rev. Gary Vencill.

The six week session will focus on reading and discussing A New Harmony: The Spirit, the Earth and the Human Soul by internationally known Celtic theologian and author the Rev. Dr. John Philip Newell. Newell will be the featured speaker at the 2014 Downeast Spiritual Life Conference in Castine July 11 and 12. (http://downeastspiritual.org)

The first meeting, at which time books can be purchased, will be an overview of Celtic spirituality. Immediately following each meeting, there will be a noon service at the church using a Celtic-inspired liturgy developed by John Philip Newell.

This program is free and open to all interested. For more information or to reserve a copy of the book, call 374-5200.
