BANGOR, Maine — The Bangor Democratic City Committee has scheduled a Caucus to select a Democratic candidate to run in Bangor’s District 17. The caucus will take place at 7 p.m. Sunday, July 22. at the Democratic Campaign Office at 205 Exchange St.
Any registered Democrat residing in District 17 (generally encompassing those who formerly voted at Bangor High School) is eligible for selection as a candidate. Those eligible to vote at the caucus are active Democrats in District 17.
City Committee Chair Susan Hawes paid tribute to Sara Stevens, who withdrew from the campaign last week for family reasons. Hawes cited the unanimous tribute to Sara by the County Committee on July 14 which praised her service as a representative, especially her tireless work on the appropriations committee, working across party lines to secure sound agreements.
