The Bangor Democrats will hold their every-other-year caucus this Sunday, according to John Hanson, vice-chair of the Bangor Democratic City Committee and Caucus Convener. All registered Democrats are welcome to participate in the caucus, to be held at 1 pm at the Parks and Recreation Center at 647 Main St on Sunday, March 2. Local Democrats will discuss policy issues, hear from local candidates and elect delegates to the State Convention.

“The State Convention will be held at the Cross Center on May 30-31,” Hanson said, “and it’s the first time in over 20 years that state Democrats will have their Convention in Bangor. Now that we have a proper facility in the Cross Insurance Center, we can welcome Democrats from all over Maine to Bangor. Our own city delegates to that convention will be elected Sunday at our caucus.”

Bangor residents not registered to vote, or registered but not in any party, may register as Democrats before the Sunday caucus. Call 947-1471 with any questions.
