For the second year in a row Spruce Head artist, Katharine A. Cartwright, has earned a top award at the 92nd International Exhibition of the National Watercolor Society in Los Angeles, California. This prestigious award for her painting, entitled Ampere’s Law, was provided by the Jack Richeson Company located in Wisconsin. Additionally, Cartwright’s painting will be included in a one year traveling exhibition that tours the nation. The National Watercolor Society, founded in 1920, annually sponsors an international juried exhibition of watercolors that draws thousands of entrants globally. Of those, less than one hundred are selected by a jury and top awards are conferred upon only a few. This is the second year in a row that Cartwright has earned a top award from NWS, a society that last year conferred upon her signature status. Presently, her work is represented by Rougette Gallery in Rockland, Maine.
