CRX is an outdoor based program with an emphasis on encouraging kids to have fun while exercising outdoors. CRX offers exciting and healthy activities over an eight-week period ranging from white water rafting, canoeing, hiking, fishing, two-weeks of kayaking, biking, swimming and camping. CRX exposes participants to some of the most beautiful spots that Aroostook, Piscataquis, Hancock and Penobscot counties have to offer. CRX teaches the fundamental skills associated with every activity that is offered throughout this exciting summer program.
CRX is for youths entering the 6th, 7th. 8th or 9th grades, and promotes exciting recreational opportunities throughout Maine. Week 3, Kayaking Intro, will allow kids entering 5th grade to participate.
Upon registering, beginning May 1, 2013, participants will be provided a detailed itinerary and recommended gear list for each week’s activity. The Caribou Parks and Registration Department has the right to add, delete, or swap programs based upon registration demand. (Note the non-resident $125 annual fee does not apply to any CRX program)

So you think you’re a kayaking expert? Just because you know the T-Rescue, a wet entry, and how to put a paddle together, must mean you’re a pro?…WRONG! This week is geared towards all previous participants who know names like Rum Rapids, Mad River Dam, Dodo’s Bridge, and Cross Lake Boat Landing. Never participated before? No worries you’ll catch up to speed in a hurry! This year promises to visit new places and some of the prior participant’s favorites as well.
