CAPE ELIZABETH, ME (April 02, 2014) Cape Memory Care, Maine’s leading Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias program, is excited to welcome national Alzheimer’s expert, Dr. Laurel Coleman, for an in-depth Alzheimer’s discussion on Wednesday, April 16th at their Scott Dyer Road location. Cape Memory Care is a affiliate Woodlands Senior Living community.
The event will kick off at 5:30pm with refreshments, followed by the presentation beginning at 6:00pm. The discussion will help families and friends learn how Alzheimer’s disease can change a loved one’s behavior and help them face the special challenges that come with the disease.

Dr. Laurel Coleman served eight years on the National Board of Directors of the Alzheimer’s Association and is also a former board member of the Maine Chapter of Alzheimer’s Association. She specializes in care of persons with dementia and works at Maine Medical Center’s Geriatric Clinic and with CMMC’s Palliative Care Team. She was nominated to serve on President Obama’s Alzheimer’s Advisory Council and is in her second term as the chair of the Clinical Care Committee focusing on improving care for persons with dementia, increasing awareness of the disease, and developing a workforce that is dementia capable.
