BRUNSWICK, Maine — Brunswick Executive Airport will receive three federal grants totaling $1,364,130 from the Department of Transportation, Congresswoman Chellie Pingree announced Thursday.
“Brunswick Executive Airport is a critical piece in the redevelopment of the former Navy base. Having the facility nearby is a draw to the innovative businesses that have come to Brunswick Landing and the area,” said Pingree, in a press statement. “I’m excited that the airport will be able to make these improvements so it can continue to establish itself as a state-of-the-art facility.”
Individual grant amounts and how they will be used are:
— $182,088 for rehabilitating the terminal building’s roof;
— $748,818 for improving drainage;
— $433,224 for a fire protection system in one of the facility’s buildings.
