Each year North Country Riding Club offers a scholarship in memory of Irene Cochran to a high school senior or a continuing adult student who has made a meaningful contribution to the animal or agricultural world. The recipient must also pursue his/her career in this field of study. This year the 2012 Irene Cochran Scholarship has been awarded to Brooke Boeglin, who is the daughter of Bryant and Dody Boeglin of Exeter.

Brooke is a 2012 graduate of Foxcroft Academy and has been accepted at Johnson and Wales University in Providence, RI. She is pursuing a career in Equine Business/Riding. Brooke also plans on participating in Johnson & Wales Study Abroad program in Germany.

Throughout her years, Brooke has shown her love of horses and riding. She has been very much involved with the NCRC as well as a member of MeCTA and NBHA. She has received many awards from these organizations. She also assisted the veterinaries at Foxcroft Veterinary Service when they went out on called during her senior year.
