Brewer student earns $1,500 scholarship

BREWER, Maine — Lucas Lamond of Brewer, Maine, recently received a $1,500 scholarship to apply towards his further education from Farm Credit East, the Northeast’s largest agricultural lending cooperative. This year, the cooperative has awarded $46,500 in college scholarships to 31 student recipients.

Lamond has been involved with forestry and logging activities for many years. He currently majors in forest operations bioproducts and bioenergy at the University of Maine. After earning his undergraduate degree, he hopes to continue to earn his MBA and become a licensed forester in Maine.
