BREWER, Maine — The Annual Brewer Days Celebration will be taking place this coming weekend, September 5-7 and over 20 events are scheduled to take place. Friday evening’s activities will include the Brewer Youth Hockey Family Barbecue from 5-7 PM; the Brewer Hometown band performance at 6 PM with the presentation of the Citizen and Business of the year awards at intermission. The Family Street Dance & Block Party will take place in the auditorium parking lot from 7 – 9:30 PM with music provided by D.J Hart. A fireworks show will commence at 9 PM.
Saturday’s activities kick off at 7 AM with the annual Brewer Kiwanis Club Pancake Breakfast at the auditorium. The children’s carnival will be held on site from 10 AM – 2 PM and will feature pony rides, inflatible slide, games, and a bicycle auction. A Zumba demonstration will take place at 10 AM and a Karate demonstration is scheduled for 2 PM.
Musical entertainment will include the RetroRockerz performing at 11 AM; the Allison Ames Band at 12:15 PM, and the Ian Black Band at 1:30 PM. Brewer Police and Fire will be on site with exhibits and demos. The Children’s money grab will be held at 2:45 PM and the giant water slide will be available at 3:30. Free public skate will be held from 4-6 PM at the Penobscot Ice Arena and the Brewer Historical Society will hold a Spaghetti Dinner at 5 PM at the auditorium.
The Zombies and Witches 5K Run will take place at 5 PM beginning at the Brewer Community School. Rounding out the weekend will be the 7th Annual Brewer Days Car Show which will take place in the Snap Space Solutions parking lot located in Brewer’s Industrial Park.
