Breast Health Leadership Award – Call for Nominations

Posted June 18, 2012, at 1:33 p.m.

Each year the Maine Breast Health Cooperative (MBHC) honors an individual or group who has made an outstanding difference in breast health and breast cancer in Maine. The Breast Health Leadership Award is open to volunteers, advocates, professionals, and groups whose efforts are noteworthy and have gone above and beyond what is expected.

Each of us knows a special person whose efforts to care for patients or to educate, initiate, or advocate are impressive and make a difference—this is your opportunity to give them the recognition they deserve. Awards will be presented at the 15th Annual Breast Cancer Awareness Silver Tea on Thursday, September 27, 2012, at the Blaine House in Augusta.

MBHC consists of the American Cancer Society, Maine CDC Breast and Cervical Health Program, Maine Breast Cancer Coalition, Maine Breast Nurse Network, Maine Cancer Foundation, and the Maine Affiliate of Susan G. Komen — all working collectively to reduce the impact of breast cancer in Maine. The MBHC hosts the annual Blaine House Tea with the First Lady of Maine, Ann LePage.

MBHC welcomes your nomination of a candidate who has made an exceptional contribution by promoting breast health, improving awareness and understanding of breast cancer, or working toward elimination of the disease. Please download and complete a copy of the 2012 Leadership Award Nomination Form, then mail it to the address listed on the form. All nominations must be postmarked by Friday, July 27, 2012.

Nomination materials can be found at www.komenmaine.org or may be emailed to you by contacting info@komenmaine.org.
