Join Penobscot Marine Museum photo archivist Kevin Johnson Sat May 3, 1:30 – 3 pm in Boothbay (Maine), for an illustrated talk, “Boothbay: The Postcard View”. Johnson will relate the fascinating double story of the notable Eastern Illustrating Collection of historic photographs, and explore the collection with our audience through a slideshow from the perspective of the Boothbay region.
The public is encouraged to participate–we expect a turnout of amateur local historians who will know a lot more about this group of images than we do.
The event is co-hosted by the Boothbay Railway Village in
partnership with the Boothbay Region Historical Society. If Boothbay is on your itinerary this weekend, or if you’re nearby and want a glimpse of this coastal hub a century ago, join Kevin and company at the Town Hall at the Boothbay Railway Village, 586 Wiscasset Road (Route 27). Admission is free, and donations to PMM are welcome.
