BLUE HILL, Maine — Blue Hill Memorial Hospital is pleased to welcome Richard Littlefield, DO, FACOOG specializing in obstetrics and gynecology to the Blue Hill Women’s Health Care practice. Dr. Littlefield is board-certified and received his medical education at Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine in Illinois. He completed an internship at the Osteopathic Hospital of Maine and a residency at Allentown Osteopathic Medical Center in Pennsylvania. Dr. Littlefield most recently practiced for six years in Brunswick at Parkview Hospital and, prior to that, 20 years in Skowhegan at Redington-Fairview General Hospital.
Blue Hill Women’s Health Care provides a full range of obstetric and gynecological services to women throughout their lives. They give thoughtful attention to their patient’s health issues, and focus on providing preventive medical care along with the information needed to make healthcare decisions. “I was attracted to Blue Hill Women’s Health Care for the opportunity to join a practice that was already providing high quality women’s healthcare, in a town that offered a real sense of community and quality of life,” explains Littlefield in a press release. “I was also impressed by the knowledge and dedication of the BHWHC midwives and look forward to providing them with support.”
Dr. Littlefield will see patients at Blue Hill Women’s Health Care in Blue Hill, as well as the Bucksport and Island Family Medicine practices. He is accepting new OB and GYN patients for general women’s health including abnormal bleeding, incontinence, birth control, etc. He will also provide physician back-up and support for the practice’s midwives.
