BELFAST, Maine — One of the programs included in annual Festival of Art noon-2 p.m. Friday, May 11, at the UMaine Hutchinson Center will be a presentation by Blaikie Hines. He is known as a fine art conservator specializing in oil paintings and gilded objects. He is also known for his portrayal of America’s past in a painting style reminiscent of the mid 19th century Hudson River School. He is also a Civil War author and book publisher. For the last 22 years he has lived in Thomaston, dividing his time between his fine art conservation practice and painting. His presentation is free and open to all.
