BLUE HILL, Maine — The Blue Hill Rifle and Pistol Club will hold a celebration of historic firearms of the black powder era in the late 19th century 1:30-5 p.m. Saturday, June 21, at the club, 54 Range Road. Admission is free and people of all ages are invited.
There will be more than three dozen antique and classic rifles and shotguns from the black powder cartridge era, that range from “boys” rifles to buffalo rifles. Attendees may shoot some of these on the club’s outdoor range. There will be instruction on evaluating, safely shooting and caring for 19th century firearms.
The club will hold its monthly Fast Draw Competition, which spectators may watch.
