Tedford Housing has been chosen as the beneficiary for the Wednesday, May 28th “Bike Night” at Buck’s Naked Barbeque, Freeport. This event, which will raise funds to replace the mattresses at Tedford’s Brunswick homeless shelters, is open to the public. Brunswick-based band, “Cinnamon- Female Infused Rock” is the entertainment for the evening. There is no admission charge and reservations are not needed for this event which will run from 6 to 9 pm. Attendees purchase their own food and beverages and funds will be raised through event sponsorships, auction items, and a 50-50 raffle.

Tedford is especially grateful to our Platinum Sponsor for the event, Agren, Maine’s largest independent appliance and mattress retailer. Jason Agren, President, whose retail stores are located in Topsham, Auburn, Norway and South Portland stated “we have been aware of Tedford’s work to provide emergency shelter and other services for the homeless for a long time. We are very glad to be able to give back to an organization doing such important work to help those in need.” Other sponsors include Carleton Realty, with offices in Bath and Wiscassett, and Brunswick-based The Will to Play, a service that helps student-athletes assess their options for college.

In addition to event sponsors, Tedford Housing thanks Freeport resident Todd Sanders for organizing the event and acting as auctioneer. A middle-school principal by day, Sanders has been an avid motorcyclist for many years. He, like many of his fellow cyclists, are generous supporters of many local causes. “Regardless if riding solo, with a friend, or as part of a motorcycle group, the majority of bikers are hard-working individuals who go above and beyond to support a variety of charitable events. I am very glad to be able to help out.”

Cinnamon band member, Karen Kendrick-Wilson says “Cinnamon is a local Mid Coast band and we care about our neighbors. We are happy to be helping Tedford Housing.”
