BLUE HILL, Maine — Blue Hill Memorial Hospital (BHMH) Trustee Andrew Laslie, CPA, recently was appointed to the Eastern Maine Healthcare System Audit and Compliance Committee.
Laslie, a partner at BHA, LLC, specializes in corporate and individual tax compliance and also has an extensive background in auditing non-profit and governmental entities.
“Andy is a highly engaged member of the BHMH Finance and Audit Committee. He often follows up meetings with additional counsel on issues facing the hospital. There is no doubt that he will bring the same thoughtful effort to his service on the EMHS Audit and Compliance Committee,” describes BHMH Chief Financial Officer Ed Olivier in a press release.
The Audit and Compliance Committee oversees the integrity of EMHS’s financial statements, compliance with legal and regulatory requirements, independent auditors’ qualifications and independence, as well as the system’s internal controls regarding finance, accounting, legal compliance, and corporate compliance.
“I feel privileged to work with a group that is tasked with ensuring the financial integrity of one of the largest employers in our state and a visionary in the healthcare field,” states Laslie in the press release. He joined the BHMH Board of Trustees in August 2009.
He holds a bachelor’s degree in Economics with a concentration in Accounting from the University of Southern Maine in Portland and is also a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Maine Society of Certified Public Accountants.
