The one-room Greer’s Corner Schoolhouse, built in 1908, will host an open house as part of the Bicentennial events of Belmont, Saturday, Aug. 23, at Greer’s Corner, opening at 1 p.m. There will be a ‘teacher’ in attendance to ‘teach’ the students as to how school was kept in the olden days. The school closed in 1954. Barbara Hills and Isabel Morse Maresh will be doing a ‘signing’ at the Schoolhouse of a limited number of their book, ‘Searsmont Schools, 1814-2014′. which sells for $22.50. There are events going on all afternoon, 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. at Greer’s Corner, corner of Back Belmont and Lincolnville Roads in Belmont. There will be food in abundance, and a Craft Fair.
