The Belfast Maskers continue their twenty-fifth anniversary theatre season with eye-raising performances of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde, the terrifying and inventive re-telling of the story by Robert Louis Stevenson, adapted by Jeffrey Hatcher. The play is set in Victorian England and is a tale of suspense, intrigue, and the struggle between good and evil. This frightful show kicks off the Halloween season and is for mature audiences only.
Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde will be performed on three separate October weekends in three venues:
October 12 – 13: Fort Knox State Park at 7 pm (Rain Date: October 14, 7 pm) (Open-air performance, bring chairs or blankets; weather permitting; handicapped accessible)
October 19 – 20 : First Baptist Church of Belfast at 7 pm
(95 High Street; handicapped accessible)
October 26 – 27: Union Hall, Union Street, Searsport at 7 pm
Admission for all performances is $15 for adults; $10 for teens 15+ (not suitable for young people under 15). Tickets are available by calling 338-9668 or at the venue 1 hour before performances. In Belfast, advance tickets may also be purchased at Out of the Woods (48 Main Street). In Searsport, advance tickets may also be purchased at Gallery 37 (37 Main Street).
