Belfast Book Festival – Belfast Bound, July 27th, 28th & 29th!
Beyond the Sea, Old Professors Bookshop, Artisan Books and Bindery, and Our Town Belfast are hosting a Book Festival.
With more than 25,000 books – Belfast is the Hay-on-Wye of New England.
Six bookstores, plus twenty-one shops with great book selections will be offering over fifty literary events over a three day weekend all across town!
Some examples of the variety from the fifty scheduled literary events are, Van Reid and his new Moosepath League release Moss Farm; Q&A on the US penal system with Margaret Micolichek, Executive Director of the Restorative Justice Project of Midcoast Maine; award-winning children’s author, Lynn Plourde, Only Cows Allowed, and Moose, of Course! Lost Trail, and author Donn Fendler, Lost on a Mountain in Maine, and Lost Trail. Milk and cookies to be served and a special visit from Brody the Moose!; Author Monica Wood, reading and signing her new memoir, When We Were the Kennedys: A Memoir from Mexico, Maine., plus talks, signings and tastings of tea, Moxie, and whoopie pies –authors Katrina Avila Munichiello, Jim Baumer, and Nancy Griffin, respectively.
Added programs are the stimulating Random Acts of Reading, – you never know when one will strike! And ten minute scheduled readings at the “Please Be Seated” artistic seats throughout town such as a reading from Thomas Jefferson’s Head and Heart, and Thou Art That, by Joseph Campbell.
