Bar Harbor Library launches campaign to match $6K in 6 Days

BAR HARBOR — Six thousand dollars in six days — we can do it with your help!
The Jesup Memorial Library has a challenge grant of $6,000 to match with an additional $6,000. So join our 6K in 6 Days Challenge and donate now.
The Challenge runs through midnight on Saturday, June 14. It’s an environmentally friendly project – all requests are being made online and via email, and donations can be made easily and securely on our website. Just go to www.jesuplibrary.org and click on the big maroon DONATE button.
For those who want to help but would rather not donate online, donations can be dropped off at the library’s front desk.
Anyone who donates now will not receive a solicitation letter as part of our fall fundraising mailing.
The Jesup is thriving, robust community gathering place that provides resources for everyone to use on an equal basis. That includes books in their traditional, audio and “e” forms; opportunities to use and learn new technologies; access to hundreds of online databases; and a terrific summer author program featuring everyone from local authors to New York Times bestsellers right here to Bar Harbor. It includes lectures and workshops on a truly eclectic range of topics; help from friendly expert staff; and story times and learning programs for children.
As a private nonprofit organization that serves as the town’s public library, we receive just 4.8 percent of our annual funding from the town. Our endowments provide 49.3 percent. The rest comes from those who prize the shared resources, the programs, the access to information, and the opportunities provided by the Jesup.
We do what we do for you, and we couldn’t do it without you. Please step up for the Jesup and make your donation by midnight Saturday, June 14.
