BANGOR, Maine — The Bangor YMCA has hired Diane Dickerson, executive vice president of Marketing, Development, and Community Engagement. Diane has more than 30 years in the business, having owned and operated successful marketing, advertising, and strategic planning agencies in Nevada and California.
Mike Seile, CEO of the Y, said, “Diane brings a new level of experience to our Y, as well as to our community. This newly created position will allow Diane to take all of her experience and talent in marketing, development, community and media relations, and elevate our brand and community awareness of the many programs and services we provide. She will be a key member of our executive team.”
Dickerson owned and operated Merica Dickerson Advertising and The Dickerson Group in Las Vegas, Nev. Her firms represented hundreds of the leading businesses and organizations throughout the state. She also has served as chief marketing officer for several companies in Nevada, California, and Colorado, as well as associate athletic director of development for the University of Nevada, Las Vegas.
Dickerson is the former Chairman of the Las Vegas Chamber of Commerce, The Children’s Miracle Network, Big Brothers and Big Sisters, and has served on the board of many community organizations, specifically those directed to the education and health of children.
Dickerson said, “I am thrilled to be a part of this incredible organization. The Y provides so many programs and services that truly transform families, children, and adults, enabling them to learn, grow, and thrive throughout their lives. I followed my heart and moved to Bangor, and have since fallen in love with this community. I am honored to be able to make a difference with such a great community organization.”
