Bangor High School is proud to announce that Malik Robinson, a Senior on the Speech and Debate Teams has earned over 1500 points through the National Forensic League. The NFL is a Speech and Debate Honor Society that oversees High School Forensic competition throughout the nation. Students earn points based on their rankings within speech rounds or their win/loss record in debate rounds. A student active over four years of competition often earns around 500 points and a student breaking 1000 points is as rare as a Maine basketball player scoring 1000 points in four years. Malik Robinson, a Senior at Bangor High School broke the 1500 points at a Speech Tournament in Readfield on Saturday, and currently has 1534 points. The old state record of 1501 points was set by Bangor alumnus Rami Blair, Class of 2012. Malik is coached by Dr. Jennifer Page, also a Bangor High School Speech Team alumnae.
