The group that calls themselves Bangor Elves will be hitting the streets of Bangor this Saturday, spreading good cheer in the form of gift certificates, cash, baked goods, gift baskets and much more. Their objective is simply to make people feel good this holiday season with a thoughtful gesture. The day starts for the elves by splitting up at 8:00 AM and hitting selected area restaurants for breakfast. The lucky waitresses that serve them breakfast will find an additional $100 bill with his/her 20% tip. Then it’s off to visit laundry mats with rolls of quarters, local stores and public places to offer random gift certificates, cash towards their purchase, or assistance in any way one might need that a willing elf can provide. The elves plan to also visit local hospitals to offer cafeteria vouchers to family and friends in waiting areas.

The elves will be setting up in Pickering Square all day as well, with tables full of coats, hats, gloves, socks, baked goods, coffee, water and juice and toiletries, which are made available free to anyone who needs it.

This will be a special day for all who participate and the hope is to spread joy and good cheer in hopes that people will pay it forward.
