Bangor Ballet presents “Snow White,” a new original ballet based on the Snow White fairy tale. Choreographed by Serena and Cassandra Lovett, the ballet uses well known and less well known classical music to tell the story of Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. This is a show for the entire family.
Bangor Ballet company members and students from Thomas School of Dance and other local dance studios will depict the familiar characters of Snow White, The Evil Queen, the Huntsman who spares Snow White’s life, the Prince and the Seven Dwarves as well as shadows, trees and wind and a variety of forest creatures.
“Snow White” will be performed at 4 p.m. on Saturday, April 6, at Center Theatre in Dover-Foxcroft and at 4 p.m. on Sunday, April 7, at the Brewer Community School’s Performing Arts Center. Tickets are $12 for adults and $8 for students and children under 18, and are available in advance in Bangor at Thomas School of Dance, 14 State St. and Patrick’s Hallmark Shop in the Broadway Mall as well as at Center Theatre for the show there. Tickets will also be available at all theaters on the days of performance.
On Sunday, April 14, “Snow White” will be performed at The Grand in Ellsworth as part of their Family Series. The Downeast Kids Chorus, under the direction of Paul Sullivan, will offer a special showcase performance at 1:30 before the ballet. Tickets are $14 for adults, and $7 for children under age 12. Please contact The Grand at www.grandonline.org or call 667-9500 to purchase tickets for this performance.
