PORTLAND, Maine, MANCHESTER and PORTSMOUTH, N.H., and BOSTON, Mass. – Baker Newman Noyes, one of New England’s largest accounting and advisory firms, announced Paul Letalien as director of the firm’s healthcare management consulting practice. Letalien, who previously served in this role during the firm’s founding in 1995, will once again oversee the firm’s healthcare consulting practice across its four offices. In this capacity, he will ensure a continued focus on best practices, strategic growth for the firm in the healthcare sector, and the highest level of attention to detail for clients.

“The healthcare industry has experienced significant regulatory and structural changes in the last few years. Our practice prides itself on helping clients successfully work through these challenges. We serve many of the largest hospitals and healthcare organizations in New England, and I’m looking forward to both supporting and leading our team members as they continue to provide personalized service,” said Letalien.

Letalien specializes in providing financial reporting, financial feasibility and capital planning, healthcare reimbursement and payment systems, corporate restructuring, revenue cycle, and strategy consulting to hospitals physician groups, long-term care facilities, and other provider types. A graduate of the University of Southern Maine, he is also actively involved in several professional and community organizations, including the Center for Grieving Children as board president.

Principal Vinal Doody previously served as the director of the practice for the past several years. Doody will continue to serve clients in his role as principal until December, when he will retire after 30 years in the healthcare and accounting profession, 19 of which were spent at BNN.

“On behalf of myself and the healthcare team, I want to thank Vinal for his years of service in the director role,” says Letalien. “It has been an honor to work alongside him, growing our practice and expanding our capabilities. He did a fantastic job leading our team and will continue to serve as a role model for our professionals.”

“We owe much of our healthcare practice’s growth to Vinal’s expertise and hard work during his tenure,” says Eleanor Baker, managing principal. “He will be greatly missed by myself, the principal group and all of our employees. We wish him all the best as he embarks on this exciting transition.”

Beyond traditional audit and tax services within the healthcare sector, Baker Newman Noyes provides a unique set of additional services that can help clients navigate the complicated healthcare regulation landscape. Clients of BNN’s healthcare practice include acute care, rehabilitation and psychiatric hospitals; home health agencies and outpatient centers; skilled nursing, residential care and assisted living facilities; and physician and physician practice groups.
