Lily King, an award-winning novelist, will be at Left Bank Books on Sunday, August 3, as part of the bookshop’s tenth birthday celebration. King is the prize-winning author of several novels, including “The Pleasing Hour” (New York Times Notable Book), “The English Teacher” (Chicago Tribune Best Book of the Year and winner of the Maine Fiction Award); and “Father of the Rain” (New York Times Editors Choice, winner of both the New England Books Award for Fiction and the Maine Fiction Award).
Her latest novel, “Euphoria” (June 2014)was reviewed on the cover of the New York Times Book Review, and hailed as “a taut, witty, fiercely intelligent tale of competing egos and desires in a landscape of exotic menace.” Andre Dubus III wrote that “Euphoria” is “simply one of the finest novels I’ve read in years, and it puts Lily King firmly in the top rank of our most accomplished novelists.”
After her talk, King will sign copies of all of her books, which may be reserved in advance by contacting Left Bank Books.
The public is cordially invited to attend the talk and signing at no charge. However, reservations are strongly recommended to ensure adequate seating. Call Left Bank Books at 207-338-9009 or email (firstname.lastname@example.org) to reserve a seat or for more information.
