The Dollars and Sense of Food will be the topic of the third and final program for the Holocaust and Human Rights Center of Maine’s Politics of Food Discussion series to be held at the Michael Klahr Center on Tuesday, December 4th at 7 p.m.
Bonnie Rukin, Coordinator of Slow Money Maine will join the conversation, along with local farmers to discuss how our food gets from local farms to local tables.
Slow Money Maine is part of a national initiative focusing on sustainable food initiatives. The mission of Slow Money Maine is to build a diverse network of individuals, philanthropists, businesses, nonprofit organizations and government entities that are focused on investing in farms and fisheries, and the ecosystems that sustain them as a means of growing our local food systems, economies and communities statewide.
The program will include a brief video and then focus on a discussion program. The Dollars and Sense of Food discussion is free, and open to the public. Snacks and drinks will be provided and donations are gratefully accepted.
