Bar Harbor, ME: Author-photographer Dorothy Monnelly will be at the Jesup Memorial Library on Friday, May 23 from 7 to 8 p.m. to share her work and answer questions about creating books of photography. Ms. Monnelly is the creator of two exquisite books of black-and-white photography interspersed with prose and poetry to create bound works of art.

Ms. Monnelly’s latest work, “For My Daughters,” is a beautiful pairing of her late mother’s poetry, written for the author and her sister, with Dorothy’s photographs which were inspired by the poems.

Her stunning black-and-white nature photos were recently displayed alongside those of Ansel Adams and Ernest H. Brooks II in the “Fragile Waters” show at the Tampa Museum of Art.

Her books, “The Great Marsh” and “For My Daughters,” will be available for purchase at the library that evening.

All are welcome at this free event, and refreshments will be served. Come prepared to enjoy and learn!

For more information, call the Jesup Memorial Library at (207) 288-4245 or email lrooney@jesuplibrary.org.
