AUGUSTA, Maine — Friendly’s at 48 Western Ave. plans to unveil its refreshed appearance and updated menu on Feb. 25 with a special visit from Friendly’s CEO Jon Maguire and Mayor William R. Stokes, who will serve up the first scoop of ice cream at 2:30 p.m.
Friendly’s will continue the celebration through March 3 by donating a dollar to the Augusta Boys and Girls Club for Teens from every ice cream dessert sold. The teens club CEO Ken Walsh plans to attend the Feb. 25 event also.
The restaurant, which originally opened its doors in 1986, is one of the first locations to take part in the company’s ongoing initiative to reposition the brand and bring it back to its roots by recreating the iconic Friendly’s dining and ice cream experience.
The Friendly’s team is excited to introduce customers to a redesigned menu that features new dishes like the Slinky Dog as well as improvements on classics like the Fishamajig. In addition, the refurbished restaurants boast updated interiors and exteriors. 207-622-5831
