BANGOR, Maine — The Maine Association of Conservation Districts Education Committee will conduct an auction at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 30, in the Lancaster Room at the Hollywood Slots Hotel, 500 Main St.

This is the place to be to find the perfect Maine-made Holiday gifts from local Maine producers. There’s a wide variety of gifts from fresh Maine potatoes to Maine-made Christmas wreaths, jewelry, and unique one-of-a-kind items for men, women and children. All are perfect for holiday gift giving, and all proceeds support Maine Envirothon.

Envirothon is a state- and nation-wide environmental competition where high school students test their knowledge of natural resources and current environmental issues. Teams consisting of 3-5 students first compete at one of four regional competitions within Maine, answering questions and solving hands-on problems at five stations: Wildlife, Water/Aquatics, Forestry, Soils, and a Current Natural Resource Issue. Winners move on to the state and then national competitions.
