Brooklin, Maine (January 24, 2013) — Atlantic Boat Company is pleased to announce Plymouth Yacht Club has approved the purchase of a DUFFY-26 Launch as their new Club launch. Hull No. 78 is slated for sea-trials and delivery in early spring.
Located in historic Plymouth, MA, and situated on Cape Cod Bay, Plymouth Yacht Club is one of the oldest yacht clubs in America, founded in 1890.
The Club selected the Standard Package launch with the optional 75hp Yanmar diesel power plant, Model 4JH4-TE.
The Plymouth Yacht Club joins a number of other clubs taking delivery of the Duffy-26 Launch since last year: Portland Yacht Club’s JAMES M. CHURCHILL (Falmouth, ME), Larchmont Yacht Club’s LYC IX (Larchmont, NY), and Hull Yacht Club’s ALLERTON (Hull, MA).
The USCG changed their weight expectation from 140lbs. per person to 185 lbs., leaving many yacht clubs and marinas facing a dramatic reduction in passenger capacity. With this new ruling in mind, Atlantic Boat Company introduced the DUFFY-26 Launch, knowing that the DUFFY 26 hull’s inherent stability can meet this requirement without difficulty.
Certified as open launches, canopied launches, and enclosed launches the 24 + 1 passenger DUFFY-26 Launch is built to a high standard to meet our clients’ needs. Available in a Standard Package and Yacht Package, every boat comes standard with all safety and running equipment, is USCG inspected, and delivered ready for operation. Atlantic Boat Company’s Duffy line of boats are well-known for their rugged construction, fine finish, and ease of maintenance.
