BAR HARBOR, Maine — Painter Eric Hopkins and author Carl Little will present a program about their new book Eric Hopkins: Above and Beyond (Down East Books) at the Jesup Library at 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 25.  The event, which includes a book-signing, is free and open to the public.

Hopkins, one of Maine’s preeminent artists, will present a short slide show of images from the book accompanied by music by Thelonious Monk, after which Little will engage him conversation about his art, life and vision. Hopkins hails from North Haven Island and is now dividing his time between Rockland and Mount Desert Island. He is renowned for his aerial views of Maine and his work in glass. Little is a poet and the author of a number of art books.

Following the presentation, artist and author will sign books. Sherman’s Bookstore will provide copies. For more information, call the Jesup Library at 288-4245.
