Aroostook Retire Educators Association to Meet

Aroostook Retired Educators Association (A.R.E.A.) will meet Tuesday, June 24, 2014 at the Southern Aroostook Agricultural Museum in Littleton, ME. Registration will be at 11:00 am; a roast turkey dinner will be served at noon . The cost of the meal is $13. Lunch will be followed by the business meeting and program. Guest speaker will be April Flagg of Aroostook Aspirations Initiative.

Once again A.R.E.A. will continue to collect canned goods and nonperishable items to be distributed to local food pantries. Donations may be brought to the summer meetings. Also A.R.E.A .will be participating in this year’s annual “Day of Caring” to be held in September. Each county affiliate plans a special project to benefit the students in that county. This year A.R.E.A. has chosen to participate in the “Bulging Backpack” project. The project involves filling a backpack with school supplies and donating it to an area school. Donations for this project may also be brought to the summer meetings.
