Ambulance Agreement Signed

Hermon Maine – November 5, 2012, 11:00 a.m. (#001)

On October 25th, 2012 at the Hermon Town Council Meeting the ambulance agreement was signed.

Hermon Town Council voted on the proposal / agreement for the Hermon Volunteer Rescue and First Aid Squad. After a little discussion a motion was made to vote on the agreement, the council voted unanimously to a three year contract for the Hermon Ambulance to continue to service the town’s people of Hermon.

In the contract Hermon Ambulance will be the transporting ambulance for the Town of Hermon. In addition Hermon Fire Department will get a First Responders License, which will mean, that Hermon Fire Personnel will be covered by the Town’s insurance to help with Medical treatment as needed. With this agreement the people of the Town of Hermon will get the more “bang for its buck” for the emergency needs of the people.

This agreement has been a very heated topic at times, Hermon Ambulance and Hermon Fire Department have worked on this agreement for some time and all are very happy to see an agreement. There has been a lot of work put in on this for several years with various committees, advisory boards, negotiators, and meetings.

Hermon Ambulance would like to thank each and every person that has been involved with this agreement – the private citizens, citizen groups, board members, members of both services, the Hermon Town Council, Town Manager and all of the people in the Town of Hermon. Thank you all for your help and support in all of the years of service.
