LEWISTON, Maine — Kevin Lewis, CEO of Maine Community Health Options (MCHO), recently announced that Alyssa Rose has joined the organization as provider relations manager.
MCHO is a nonprofit organization that will provide affordable health insurance to Maine people and small businesses beginning in January 2014. The enrollment start date for the plan is Oct. 1, 2013. Organized as a Consumer Operated and Oriented Plan (CO-OP), MCHO’s mission is to provide high-quality benefits that promote health and wellbeing.
Rose comes to MCHO with extensive provider relations and nonprofit experience. In her previous position, she served as provider relations manager and training coordinator at ValueOptions Inc./Connecticut Behavioral Health Partnership. She has worked with behavioral health providers, as well as community-based, social service providers and families.
Rose earned her Juris Doctorate and Master’s degree in social work from the University of Connecticut, and received her BA from Mount Holyoke College. Rose recently relocated to Maine, and is looking forward to enjoying everything the state has to offer.
Maine Community Health Options is a Consumer Operated and Oriented Plan (CO-OP) created through a program of the U.S. Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS). MCHO is a private, nonprofit entity governed by a customer-based Board of Directors, which gives enrollees a strong voice in the management and development of the plan.
