BAR HARBOR — Dr. Karen James is a scientist at the MDI Bio Lab. At the Jesup Memorial Library on Wednesday, April 10, beginning at 7 p.m., she’ll share her story of collaboration with NASA through the HMS Beagle Project, which led to a trip to Houston, a phone call from the space station, a close encounter with two shuttle launches and her ultimate application to become an astronaut. This is a program of the Acadia Astronomical Society. Like all library programs, it is free and open to the public. The Jesup Memorial Library is at 34 Mount Desert St. in Bar Harbor. For more information, call marketing and communications director Melinda Rice at 207-288-4245 or 207-801-8331, or email mrice@jesuplibrary.org.
