Acadia Insurance promotes Leblanc and Pontes

WESTBROOK, Maine –  Acadia Insurance, a W.R. Berkley Company, has announced that David LeBlanc, CPCU, has been promoted to Senior Vice President, Chief Underwriting & Marketing Officer. He will be based in Acadia’s Home Office in Westbrook.

At the same time, Sharon Pontes, CRIS, has been promoted to Regional Vice President and Profit Center Manager for Acadia’s Massachusetts branch located in Marlborough.

LeBlanc was most recently the Regional Vice President for Acadia’s Massachusetts branch, having  joined Acadia in 2005 as Vice President, Specialty Marine.  Prior to Acadia he was at Liberty Mutual and RTW, Inc. He supersedes Susan Grady who was recently promoted within the W.R. Berkley organization.

Pontes joined Acadia in 2000 after a career leading the Underwriting function for the New England Branch at CNA Insurance.  Prior to CNA she worked for Trust Insurance and Carlin Insurance.  Most recently she was the Underwriting Director for Acadia’s Massachusetts branch.
