On Friday, May 30th High Mountain Hall will be hosting another 5th Friday Contradance. Headlining the show will be the Steampacket in collaboration with caller Dugan Murphy. A portion of the proceeds from this dance will go to Peopleplace Cooperative School of Rockport.
The Steampacket trio plays for dances, weddings, and other events in Maine’s Mid-Coast region. With soaring fiddle, bright mandolin, and David’s creative drop-D guitar playing, we get a rich, powerful sound that lifts the dancers and pleases listeners of all sorts. The band: Tamora Goltz on fiddle, David Stimson on guitar, piano, banjo, concertina and Glen Loper on mandolin, banjo, and percussion.
We will start the dance with a lesson for beginners; so don’t be afraid to come out even if you have never tried contradancing!

Time: Beginner’s Lesson at 7 p.m., Dance begins at 7:30 p.m.
Cost: $10 for teens (13-17) / $12 for adults (18 and older) / Kids 12 and younger get in free! Tickets will be available at the door.
