4th Annual Maine Student Acting Competition Biggest Yet!

The fourth annual Maine Student Acting Competition took place on Saturday, May 10th at Searsport District Middle School. It was the biggest turnout in the competition’s history with over 120 students competing in acting, singing, and improvisation events. Ten schools came from all over the state of Maine to participate, including: Troy Howard in Belfast, Bangor, Searsport, Bucksport, Winslow, Center Drive School, Ellsworth, Mt. View, Caravel Middle School, and Lincolnville.

MSAC was created in 2011 by Jason Bannister. The competition has grown steadily over the last four years. This year’s coordinator, Jessica Longstreet, was thrilled that Searsport could host the event. “It was amazing to see the enthusiasm and excitement in this young theater community. These students represent the future of the performing arts in Maine, and I’m proud to have been part of this great endeavor. All of the participants should be proud of their accomplishments!” Here are the results:
