ELLSWORTH, Maine — Camden National Bank is pleased to announce their sponsorship of the 20th annual Chefs’ Gala with a Havana Nights theme on Saturday, April 27, at the Ellsworth Ramada.

Proceeds from the charity event will be used for the purchase of Computer-Aided Detection (CAD) technology for the Hospital’s Breast Clinic. The CAD system helps radiologists identify suspicious areas. The use of CAD as part of the mammography screening process adds a layer of quality assurance. The early detection of breast cancer saves lives and often permits less costly and less invasive cancer treatment options than when detected at a later stage.

“We applaud the MCMH Breast Clinic’s focus on finding new ways to detect and treat cancer and believe the integration of CAD technology will be beneficial for many in our Hancock and Washington County communities,” said Greg Dufour, president and chief executive officer of Camden National Bank. “The Chef’s Gala is a remarkable community event that spotlights the good work that Maine Coast Memorial Hospital and its staff do for the wellness of the area.”

Dinner will be provided by a variety of local chefs who will be cooking up their specialties and Darling’s Auto Mal l and Darling’s Chevrolet will sponsor live dance music by the crowd pleasing Tony Boffa Band. Gala hosts for the evening are WLBZ News Center 2 anchor Chris Facchini and meteorologist Steve McKay.

Tickets sell out quickly. Don’t miss this opportunity for a Havana Night out for a great cause. Tickets are available online at www.mainehospital.org or by calling MCMH Development Office at 664-5548.
