The Annual State Scholastic Chess Championships consist of Team Events and Individual Tournaments held on separate days. These events are sponsored by the Maine Association of Chess Coaches.

The Elementary (K-3 and K-6), Junior High and High School Team Championships will be held March 8, 2014. Championship and Novice sections are available for each section. If this event is postponed due to weather, it will be rescheduled to March 15, 2014.

All sections of the Individuals Championships (K-3, K-6, K-8, K-12, and K-12 Under 1200) will be held on March 22, 2014. A companion event, the Sidekick Quads, for adults only, with proceeds supporting MACC, is also held on this day.

These events draw about 300 players each year and the team event is the largest single annual chess event in Maine. Trophies and awards are given for all events except the Sidekick Quads. Many teams and individuals continue on to participate in the USCF national championships with support from MACC.

All events will be held at the Memorial Union of the University of Maine in Orono. More information and downloadable entry forms may be obtained at www.ChessMaine.net web page.
